Findlay, now 18-2 on the season, entered the match ranked No. 5 among Ohio's Division I schools in the latest Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Norwalk St. Paul, a perennial small-school power that has won two state titles (2002, '06) and been state runner-up three times (2004, '07, '09), is ranked No. 1 in Division IV.
Kayce Krucki had a stellar night offensively for the Trojans. The senior outside hitter, a two-time all-Ohio selection, clobbered 16 kills on 29 of 30 hitting. She also had two aces on 12 of 12 serving and 16 digs defensively.
Allison Twining added 10 kills and Emma Schleucher had eight. Abby Stine dished off 17 assists and Emily Lauth added 15.
Schleucher and Lauth each had two aces. Brittane Burnside (9 digs) and Audrey Oyer (7) contributed defensively. Nicole Muehl and Twining each had one solo block and two block assists.
The Trojans will be back in action today when they host Toledo Whitmer at 7 p.m. in the opening round of the Three Rivers Athletic Conference tournament. Toledo Notre Dame will play Fremont Ross in the 6 p.m. opener at the FHS Gymnasium.
