Football: Bryan rallies past PH
BRYAN -- If there's one thing Patrick Henry might cover in practice next week it would be how to defend against an onside kick.

With Patrick Henry leading 28-13 with seven minutes to play, Bryan recovered two onside kicks and gained 138 yards on 24 plays in the games final minutes to complete a 32-28 come-from-behind win Friday over the Patriots in a meeting of two Northwest Ohio Athletic League leaders.

Patrick Henry was in total control until Bryan took over midway through the fourth quarter. Up until that point, Patrick Henry (6-1, 5-1 NWOAL) had 342 total yards, compared with Bryan's 141 -- 88 of which came on a touchdown run by quarterback Austin Schimmoeller in the first quarter. The Patriots held the ball for 30:24 compared with Bryan's 17:36

With Bryan driving midway through the fourth quarter, Schimmoeller found Derek Knicely on a 23-yard touchdown pass with 5:09 left to play. Bryan recovered the first of two onside kick attempts and went on an 11-play scoring drive that ended with Schimmoeller connecting with Collin Bacon for a 24-yard TD pass on 4th-and-18 to cut the lead to 28-26.

Bryan recovered its second onside kick and took the lead for good with 1:04 left when Schimmoeller, who carried 20 times for 129 yards, scampered in from 12 yards out.

Tobey Hernandez led Patrick Henry with 146 yards on 24 carries. Gabe Jones added 94 yards on 19 attempts for the Patriots.
