Prep volleyball: Findlay falls in TRAC tourney semifinals
A month ago, Findlay High's volleyball team survived a tense, back-and-forth, five-set battle at Toledo Notre Dame.

Monday, the Trojans weren't as fortunate.

Notre Dame turned the tide with a narrow overtime win in the third set, then rolled in the fourth in upending Findlay 25-22, 23-25, 27-25, 25-13 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference tournament semifinals played at the University of Findlay's Croy Gymasium on Monday.

Findlay entered the contest 18-2 overall, ranked No. 4 in the latest Division I state coaches poll and looking for a rematch with No. 2-ranked Toledo St. Ursula in Thursday's tournament final. Instead it will be St. Ursula, TRAC regular-season champion (7-0) and 19-1 overall, facing Notre Dame (15-6) in the 7:30 p.m. final. Findlay (19-3) will battle Toledo Central Catholic (9-10) in the consolation game at 6 p.m.

Findlay got a huge game from two-time all-state selection Kayce Krucki on Monday. The senior outside hitter was 40 for 44 spiking with 14 kills and 13 for 13 serving with two aces. Krucki's 16 digs were second only to Allison Twining's 23.

Emma Schleucher (22-25 spiking) and Ciara Ralston (21-24) pounded 10 kills each and Twining (21-22 spiking, 16-16 serving) had five. Brittanne Burnside had 10 digs and Lindsay George eight.

Ralston was 11 for 14 serving with three aces, while George (10-12 serving) had two. Emily Lauth led the Trojans with 16 assists and George had 10.
