Prep soccer: Bair's late save preserves tie for Findlay girls
Findlay keeper Olivia Bair saved her best save for last, smothering a point-blank blast with 14 seconds left to preseve a 0-0 tie with Maumee in a girls nonleague soccer match at Elmer Graham Stadium on Modnay.

Bair finished with 14 saves. But her final one was huge.

When a Maumee striker got past Findlay's last line of defense, Bair was left one-on-one. The instant the shot was struck, Bair sprawled and covered the ball as the final seconds ticked away.

Maumee goalie Jacq Korsog was just as effective, stopping all 11 shots Findlay fired at her.

Elizabeth Alexander led Findlay defensively with three steals and eight intercepts. Nikki Huber and Alexis Gray had four intercepts each and Halle McCleave three intercepts and a steal.

The tie left Maumee with an 11-1-3 record. Findlay wraps up the regular season and the Three Rivers Athletic Conference schedule Wednesday when the Trojans (8-3-4) host Fremont Ross.

Led by Hannah Robertson's two goals, Findlay's junior varsity completed an 11-3-1 season with a 7-0 win over Maumee's reserves.
