Prep Baseball: Rucki gets 100th victory at L-B
Liberty-Benton racked up 10 hits in beating Miller City 4-1 Thursday in nonconference baseball action.

The win was coach Jim Rucki's 100th career victory at Liberty-Benton.

Liberty-Benton's Jordan Harpst laced two doubles with an RBI while Andrew Kotey and Mitch Young both smacked a single and a double with an RBI. Pitcher Alex Harter gave up four hits for the Eagles (12-1).

Brent Riepenhoff ripped a single and a double for Miller City (6-3).

VAN BUREN -- Brady Lucas doubled twice, and Ross Adolph and Jameson Jacobs each ripped triples as Van Buren hammered Arlington 12-2 Thursday in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game.

Ryan Brauneller improved to 3-0 on the mound for the Black Knights (9-4, 4-1 BVC). Jake McWilliams had two hits and an RBI for Arlington (7-4, 2-2).

DOLA -- North Baltimore scored 13 runs in the first three innings as the Tigers defeated Hardin Northern 17-2 Thursday in a nonconference baseball game.

Dalton Ishmael and Jacob Frost both hit a home run and drove in three runs for the Tigers (6-7).

Jordan Watson was the winning pitcher allowing no runs on one hit striking out seven in four innings for the Tigers.

COLUMBUS GROVE -- Kody Griffith and Josh Verhoff combined to drive in seven runs Thursday as Columbus Grove defeated Ada 12-1 in a Northwest Conference baseball game.

Verhoff singled, doubled and knocked in four runs as Grove improved to 9-1, 3-0 NWC. Griffith had a two-run single in the first inning and finished with three RBIs.

Gabe Sutton stole home for lone run for Ada (2-6, 0-4).

MONTPELIER -- Six Patrick Henry players smashed doubles and the Patriots mauled Montpelier 13-5 Thursday in Northwest Ohio Athletic League baseball play.

Gabe Jones had a big day at the plate with a double, two singles, two runs and three RBIs. Logan Ziegler also added a double and two singles.

Tyler Benner had a double and single for the Locamotives.

CRESTLINE -- Sam Plott and Andre Myers each had two hits Thursday as Upper Sandusky defeated Crestline 7-4 in a North Central Conference baseball game.

Daniel Newell doubled for Upper Sandusky (8-5, 3-2 NCC) and Tristan Reichelderfer got the victory on the mound.
