College basketball: ONU women win 19th consecutive game
NEW CONCORD -- Ohio Northern got a school-record 19th consecutive win by toppling Muskingum 80-49 Saturday in Ohio Athletic Conference women's basketball action.

Ohio Northern (20-1, 14-0 OAC) dominated from the field shooting 57 percent (31 of 54), and got 34 points in the paint and 28 points off the bench.

ONU dominated the rebounding (43-24) and held Muskingum to 30 percent shooting (18 of 60) from the field.

Morgan Dumbaugh led ONU with 21 points. Joanna Snyder scored 18 points, while Cenzie Yoder added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Hannah Nelson and Karen Sidwell paced Muskingum (7-14, 2-12 OAC) with 11 points each.

ONU men also win

ADA -- Dominique Royal dropped a career-high 22 points as Ohio Northern took down Muskingum 86-79 Saturday in men's Ohio Athletic Conference play.

With ONU (10-11, 6-8 OAC) up 78-77 with 51 seconds to play, Royal got a bucket and a foul on an offensive rebound to put the Polar Bears up by three. Royal missed the free throw but Taylor Kuhlman grabbed the rebound and dished it to Royal for an easy layup and an ensuing free throw to put ONU up 83-77.

Jared Hortsman contributed 18 points. Kuhlman scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds for ONU.

Dave Brown paced Muskingum (1-20, 0-14 OAC) with 22 points and Logan Kimble put up 20.

BU men fall at buzzer

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Phil Hogan hit a game-winning jumper at the buzzer as Anderson University defeated Bluffton 79-77 Saturday in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action.

The Beavers (9-12, 5-9 HCAC), who trailed 74-66 with 2:39 remaining, tied the game when guard Tyler Neal made a short jumper with 24 seconds left.

Cody Jackson scored 19 points to lead the Ravens (9-12, 5-9).

Will Pope scored 18 points and snared 11 rebounds for the Beavers. Freshman Thayne Recker, who prepped at Arlington, scored 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the floor.

Josh Fisher (12 points) and Billy Taflinger (11) also scored in double figures for Bluffton.

BU women thumped

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Anderson's offense quickly overpowered Bluffton 72-48 Saturday in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball action.

Amy Wuestefeld led Anderson (6-15, 5-9 HCAC) with 17 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Mallory King scored 14 points with five rebounds and Ashley Wuestefeld scored 13 points.

Lauren Hutton, a former New Riegel performer, paced the Beavers (10-11, 5-9 HCAC) with 12 points and seven rebounds.
