BVC Girls Basketball: Arcadia's Palmer surpasses 1,000-point plateau in victory
VAN BUREN -- Miranda Palmer scored the 1,000th point of her high school career Thursday night as she powered Arcadia to a 67-41 victory over Van Buren in a Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball game.

Palmer reached her 1,000th point by hitting a 3-point shot from halfcourt to the end the first quarter.

Palmer, who averages 19 points and five steals per game, scored a game-high 27 points and recorded seven steals.

Aside from Palmer's career night, Molly Glick had 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds for the Redskins (7-3, 3-1 BVC).

Kristen Tropf for the Knights (3-7, 2-2) had 14 points including a game-high four 3-pointers.

MCCOMB 82

CORY-RAWSON 40

MCCOMB -- McComb had six players score at least nine points and the Panthers used an outstanding shooting night to clobber Cory-Rawson 82-40 Thursday in girls BVC action.

McComb (9-1, 4-0 BVC), which has won six games in a row and seven consecutive at home, hit 31 of 57 shots from the field. The Panthers were 9 of 18 from beyond the arc.

Spearheading the McComb offensive attack were Kristen Buck (17 points), Emily Clymer (15), Brenna Dee (13) and Jenna Huffman (12).

Briana Herr added nine points and eight rebounds.

Dee, who currently leads the BVC in assists, nearly secured a triple-double as she added nine assists and seven rebounds for the Panthers, who beat the Hornets for the seventh straight time in BVC play.

Megan Ritter led Cory-Rawson (5-8, 0-4) with 12 points and five rebounds. The Hornets have now lost 11 consecutive conference contests.

Liberty-Benton raced out to a 22-4 lead in the first quarter on its way to Thursday's 62-24 BVC girls basketball win over Vanlue.

Rachel Myers did a little bit of everything for the Eagles (6-3, 3-1 BVC) with 20 points, six assists and five steals. Katie Simon added 19 points and five rebounds.

Logan Frey netted eight points and Haley Bonham grabbed six rebounds for the Wildcats (4-7, 0-4).

DOLA -- Jordyn Webb led a trio of Arlington players in double figures with 19 points in Thursday's 68-15 BVC girls basketball win over Hardin Northern.

Haley Dillon, who was also the leading scorer in the junior varsity game with 12 points, added 16 points and Dani Heaster scored 14 as Arlington (8-2, 3-1 BVC) built a 66-15 lead through three quarters.

Chelsey Delong netted six points for the Polar Bears (1-10, 0-4).
