Girls Basketball: Co-leaders post easy victories
Liberty-Benton put forth a solid defensive effort as the Eagles beat Hardin Northern 76-11 Thursday in Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball play.

Rachel Myers led Liberty-Benton (11-3, 5-1 BVC) with 17 points and six steals. Katie Simon added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles, who won their sixth game in a row.

Lauren Kotey and Morgan Lishawa each scored 10 points apiece as well. Nine Liberty-Benton players scored in the contest.

Kylee Hooker scored four points to lead Hardin Northern (1-14, 0-6). The Polar Bears were unable to score more than five points in any quarter.

ARCADIA 60

ARCADIA -- Arcadia shot 51 percent from the field en route to doubling up Cory-Rawson 60-30 Thursday night in Blanchard Valley Conference action.

The Redskins, who sit atop the BVC in a three-way tie with Arlington and Liberty-Benton at 5-1, improved to 11-3 overall, while the Hornets fell to 7-9 and 1-5.

Arcadia held Cory-Rawson to single digits in all four quarters and forced 22 turnovers while only committing 12.

Molly Glick led the Redskins with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Miranda Palmer finished with 13 points, five steals and four assists, while Courtney Cramer had 12 points, four assists and three steals.

The Hornets got 10 points from Megan Ritter. Nicole Hulihan grabbed a team-high seven boards.

LEIPSIC -- Leipsic held Vanlue to two first-half points and the Vikings cruised past the Wildcats 60-16 Thursday in Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball action.

Amber Gerdeman led Leipsic (9-5, 4-2 BVC) with 20 points. Haley Gerten had a solid all-around game for the Vikings with seven points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals.

Haley Bonham paced Vanlue (4-11, 0-6) with eight points.

PANDORA -- Pandora-Gilboa got a solid effort from its entire team on both sides of the ball as the Rockets defeated Van Buren 51-25 Thursday in Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball action.

Pandora-Gilboa (9-5, 4-2 BVC) had six players score at least five points.

Ashley Williams and Keri Conine each scored nine points to lead the Rockets. Megan Maag had six points and six rebounds.

Kristen Tropf scored six points to pace the Black Knights (3-11, 2-4).
