Girls Basketball: Findlay High rolls over Toledo Central Catholic in TRAC play
Findlay High's girls basketball team, ignited by a pair of double-double performances, took another step toward a conference title Thursday night.

Taylor Standfield and Christina McQueen both had double-doubles as Findlay stormed past Toledo Central Catholic 50-33 in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference encounter the Findlay High gymnasium.

The victory leaves Findlay 11-3 overall and 7-1 in the TRAC. It leaves the Trojans with a game of Toledo Notre Dame (11-3, 8-0) and knocks Central Catholic (8-5 overall) back to 5-3) in the conference.

As the race for first place continues, the Trojans will face Toledo Whitmer (10-5, 4-4) next Thursday.

After Central Catholic built a 14-12 first-quarter lead, the Trojans held the Fighting Irish to single-digit scoring in each of the last three quarters.

Taylor Stanfield scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 10 boards for Findlay High. Christina McQueen also provided a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. She had four steals as well.

Deonna Murdock scored a team-high nine points for the Fighting Irish. Sydni Harmon scored four points and had a team-high six rebounds.

HAMLER -- The Patrick Henry girls basketball team's unbeaten start came to an end Thursday.

Archbold's Jessie Fidler netted 17 points to help the Blue Streaks knock off the Patriots 54-40 in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League game.

Fidler also grabbed four steals to help the Bluestreaks improve to 13-2 overall and 5-0 in the NWOAL. Teammate Cassidy Wyse added 14 points.

Katy Hammer popped in 17 points with six rebounds and Kelsey Tietje added 12 points for the Patriots (12-1, 4-1), who were ranked fourth in the latest Associated Press Division IV poll.

CONTINENTAL -- Continental exploded in the second half to dominate Fort Jennings 62-41 Thursday night in a girls basketball Putnam County League matchup.

Continental (3-1, 10-3) outscored Fort Jennings (1-4, 6-10) by 19 points in the second half.

Vanessa Koppenhofer led Continental with 20 points while Leva Weller scored 14 points and led the Pirates with five rebounds. Taylor Williamson contributed 11 points.

Cassie Lindeman and Macy Schroeder led the Musketeers with 10 points each. Emily Kehres scored seven points and led the team with three assists.

OTTAWA -- Ottawa-Glandorf spread the scoring around Thursday night on its way to a 72-54 Western Buckeye League girls basketball win over Kenton.

The Titans (10-5, 3-2 WBL) built a commanding 61-30 lead through three quarters.

Nine players scored for Ottawa-Glandorf as Kristen Miller led the way with 14 points and six assists. Michelle Maag netted 11 points, Elissa Ellerbrock added seven points and seven rebounds and Stephanie Hempfling added seven steals with five rebounds and five assists.

Gwen Downing and Kaily Whitaker both netted 18 points for Kenton (8-7, 1-4).
