Girls basketball: St. Wendelin takes down Stritch
OREGON -- St. Wendelin outscored Cardinal Stritch in all four quarters Monday as the Mohawks won 48-34 in a girls nonconference basketball game.

Colleen Fondessy led St. Wendelin (12-7) with 20 points while adding six assists. Heather Saalman scored 11 points and Ali Mowrey grabbed a team-best five rebounds, four of those coming on the offensive end.

Abby Mass led Cardinal Stritch (8-8) with 11 points. Maggie Merren had a game-high seven rebounds.

FOSTORIA -- Port Clinton hit four of its first six shots from beyond the arc and raced to a 26-11 lead after one quarter Monday as the Redskins whipped Fostoria 65-32 in a girls nonleague basketball game.

Port Clinton (16-2) shot 61.5 percent (16 of 26) from the field in the first half and went into the locker room at the break with a 46-17 lead. Emily Ashley finished with a game-high 16 points and Hope Thorbahn scored 15.

Erica Moore led Fostoria (0-17) with 13 points. Jada Hampton had 11 points.
