District Softball: Upper Sandusky advances
CLYDE -- Kyla Cusac was brilliant in the pitching circle as Upper Sandusky blanked Margaretta 3-0 in the Division III district semifinals at Clyde on Tuesday.

The Rams (13-11) advance to take on the winner of today's district semifinal game between Edison and Bucyrus in Saturday's 12 noon district final.

Cusac allowed six hits and two walks in seven innings. Upper Sandusky only had six hits, but bunched them together.

Miranda Stansberry had a triple and a single, while Brigitte Taylor and Justeen Searfoss each had doubles.

Margaretta finished its season with a 10-11 record.

ELIDA -- Parkway pounced on Patrick Henry for nine first-inning runs and the Panthers ran away with a 10-0 run-rule victory over the Patriots Tuesday in Division IV semifinal softball action from Elida Middle School.

Parkway will try for a district title at 5 p.m. on Friday when it faces either Continental or Lincolnview at Elida Middle School.

Sierra Fent fired a five-inning two-hitter for Parkway (19-5). She struck out nine and walked two.

Terra Walls homered, doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Panthers. Rachel King added a double and a single.

Kayla Fintel had Patrick Henry's two hits, both singles. The Patriots fell to 15-9 with the loss.
